This group offers assistance to develop and enhance domestic skills for independent or shared living arrangements, temporary or ongoing. Our qualified staff provides support as clients complete day-to-day activities, building the necessary skills for an autonomous life where possible. In our shared living arrangements the essential support services are readily available. At SIL4U, we believe that building personal relationships based on trust is key to creating a comfortable living environment in shared accommodations. To ensure this, we assign a dedicated caregiver to each resident, establishing a one to one relationship. This personalized approach enables our residents to feel comfortable in their shared living space while receiving individual attention and support.
Our team is dedicated to helping our clients develop and improve their domestic skills, allowing them to manage daily tasks more effectively. We offer group training in shared living environments to teach these essential skills. Our experienced staff are committed to providing personalized support services that ensure our participant’s needs are met. We assist with daily chores such as personal care, toileting, medication reminders, mobility assistance, and fall prevention. We also provide help with domestic responsibilities, attending appointments and social events, budgeting, bill payment, improving social skills, and teaching personal cleanliness and grooming.
NDIS-eligible participants may receive funding for up to 24 hours a day, for a period ranging from 7 to 28 days per year, depending on the participant’s approved funding. If a client’s usual network of informal supports is unavailable or if the client requires a respite period, we are here to provide assistance and replace those supports. We can help participants develop and practice new skills to enhance their independence in a group support environment.
Participants can receive assistance with various household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, and shopping. These services ensure that individuals can maintain a clean and safe living environment while also fostering independence. Our support staff can also provide help with house rules, conflict resolution, and communication skills to improve relationships among housemates. Additionally, we offer assistance with meal preparation and planning, which is a vital aspect of independent living and maintaining a healthy diet.
Our Short-Term Respite program offers eligible participants the opportunity to live in their own homes or our comfortable respite accommodation for a brief period. This service provides carers and families with a chance to take a break and look after themselves. Respite care includes support for self-care, help with domestic tasks, community involvement, and other activities. We understand that everyone has unique needs and circumstances, which is why we provide flexible residency options to meet their ever-changing requirements. We offer flexible residency options that allow individuals to move between different stages of life without the usual challenges of frequent moves.
Our utmost priority is to ensure that individuals have access to the necessary resources. SIL4U is dedicated team of experts works closely with each resident to develop a personalized accommodation plan that ensures a smooth transition to self-sufficient living. Our goal is to provide tailored guidance, necessary resources, and support to our residents.
This funding can cover the costs of short-term accommodation, including food, lodging, and support services. However, the accommodation must be related to your disability. This support is usually limited to 28 days per year, which can be taken all at once or spread throughout the year. The pricing is determined by the day and varies depending on the location, day of the week, and whether it’s a holiday.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) services are intended for individuals who need a higher level of support in shared living arrangements. SIL services typically provide 24/7 assistance with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, personal care, housekeeping, and medication management. The goal is to create a safe and supportive living environment where individuals can maintain their independence and quality of life. Eligibility and funding to access these services are determined by the client’s NDIS plan.
